Finally got a lesson in today. Well, it was a lesson but had very gusty winds.
I think I was definitely pushing it because I just wanted to show that I got stalls down and could be approved for my progress check. So I went out there. It was going to be a bumpy ride. We got out to the practice area and wasn’t terrible. Did slow flight, descending and climbing into a power off stall that was awesome. Then into an accelerated stall. That was the first accelerated stall that I wasn’t nervous about at all. Lastly, we did power off stalls, which we haven’t done in awhile. The first one wasn’t so good, I wasn’t using enough rudder so I exited it before the stall horn started. We talked more about imminent stalls and my instructor said either one could be done. I wanted to do an imminent power on stall instead so did it and it was good too. Yay!
We went in and did some touch and goes. Definitely was get pushed around. First one was eh. Second landing was much better. My instructor commented on it and I joked that I need a warm up one. One of them I almost got blown off the runway. And then my last one was good but a little flat.
So after that lesson I was FINALLY approved for my progress check! I’m so excited, I’m just waiting to hear when it’ll be. I’m hoping soon. Fingers crossed it is. Tomorrow I most likely won’t have another lesson because it looks like it’ll be bad out. Just because of my instructor’s schedule I’m still worried I won’t get my solo in during June. If I don’t get the progress check in before Monday, there is only one chance. I wish she wasn’t gone a bunch. I do want to try to apply for the Girls With Wings scholarship which requires I solo by June 30th, so I’m really hoping all goes perfectly.
